Glossary
• Aircraft
"Aircraft " means any device used or designed for navigation or flight in the air, except a parachute or other device used primarily as safety equipment.
• Airway Distance
The actual (as opposed to straight line) distance flown by the aircraft between two points.
• FBO
Fixed base operator, which represents a large majority of the air charter industry. By definition at a permanent location, this is a vendor of services, maintenance, fuel, flight instruction, and aircraft sales, in addition to charter.
• General Aviation
That portion of aviation other than military or commercial scheduled operations. Commercial unscheduled operations, corporate flight operations, and private aviation are the most conspicuous members of this group. Most major metropolitan airports tend to have a separate "general aviation " terminal.
• GPS
GPS Navigation stands for Global Positioning System. A GPS chip is a small radio-receiver that can capture the signals of several GPS satellites simultaneously. This way it can compute its Position, Velocity and the exact Time.
• HSI
The horizontal situation indicator (commonly called the HSI) is an aircraft instrument normally mounted below the artificial horizon in place of a conventional directional gyro (DG). It combines both the DG and the VOR display, reducing pilot workload by lessening the number of elements in his or her instrument scan.
• IFR
"Instrument Flight Rules", flight in instrument meteorology conditions, ("flight in the clouds").
• Open Pilot Warranty
Found on most policies, this is a provision which sets forth the minimum pilot ratings and hours another individual must have in order to fly your aircraft and not void your insurance coverage. Some policies also include an age range and depending on the complexity of the equipment, a recurrent training requirement may be included as well.
• Private Aircraft Hangar
An enclosed structure designed for the storage and routine maintenance of aircraft located on a lot that has recorded access to a private airport facility, ultra light facility, or general aviation airstrip.

We offer hassle free service, unlike commercial airlines with lengthy security checks, hectic ticket counters, congested traffic jams, and over crowded (expensive) airport parking. How does private aircraft rental save me time and money?
Commercial airlines only take you into larger cities while North Georgia Private Flights rental service can get you into hundreds of satellite airports in the southeast. This eliminates additional lengthy road trips, cost of gasoline and car rental fees. Our Beechcraft Baron rents for $500.00 an hour. (See our Rates page for additional pilot fees). We can give you a close quote, head winds, tail winds, delays in holdings, can add or subtract from your final bill. For instance, a trip from Athens, Ga. to Raleigh, NC and back would cost about $1,250.00 plus pilot.When are you available?
We can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to schedule a flight rental.What is the target area?
The beechcraft Baron 58 has a twelve hundred miles range or about five hours average round. However, this plane is more suitable for day trips within the southeastern U.S., but has flown hunting trips to grass strips on the Rio Grande.How many people can you take?
This airplane has a capacity for 5 passengers plus the pilot. Based on safety reasons and planning purposes, we number our occupancy on weight, runway length, temperature and luggage.What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure time, requires that all the pilot fees and 1/2 of the aircraft rental will be due. If the same flight is rescheduled within 48 hours, 1/2 of the aircraft rental will be waived (based on availability).What are your terms of payment?
With approved credit, seven days from receipt of invoice, check or cash only.
•Note: Pilot charges must be billed separately. Without credit approval, the total cost is due at departure.What kind of clients do you have?

The standard, unendorsed aviation insurance policy does not allow un-named pilots to fly the covered airplane. The "Open Pilot Warranty " is an endorsement added to the policy by the insurance company that allows any pilot meeting the stipulated qualifications in the warranty to fly the aircraft, as long as they have your permission.
